The current year witnessed a number of filmmakers weave pure cinematic magic on the big screen. Across languages, filmmakers seemed to have put in their best efforts forward to helm movies that provide the quintessential theatre experience for cinema goers. Films like Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1, Kantara, Brahmastra, Rorschach and more have set the big screen on fire, and are on their way to thrill cinephiles on OTT as well. Here are the theatrical titles which are gearing up to hit OTTs by the end of the year.
Chup: Revenge of the Artist
The R Balki directorial follows the story of a police officer who is tasked with bringing to justice a serial killer who targets film critics, as murders start to rock Mumbai with every film release. The film stars Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt, Dulquer Salmaan and Shreya Dhanwanthary.

Doctor G
Doctor G stars Ayushmann Khurrana as a medical student who finds himself as the only male student in the gynaecology department in his college. Unable to change his major, he must try to get rid of his own internal misgivings before he can be fully committed to his profession.

Kantara
Starring Rishabh Shetty, Kantara is set against the backdrop of a village on the outskirts of a reserve forest in Kundapura. The conflicts that arise between the government, a greedy landlord and the villagers over the land, form the crux of the story, which is inspired by folklore from coastal Karnataka.
Brahmastra
Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus follows the story of a young man named Shiva who discovers his distinctive connection to the most powerful weapon in the world- the Brahmastra. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy.

Vikram Vedha
The Hindi remake of Pushkar-Gayatri’s 2017 Tamil film of the same name, Vikram Vedha revolves around the story of a police officer who is on the tail of a dreaded gangster. When the latter surrenders and starts to narrate a tale to the officer, he is forced to evaluate his assumptions of what is right and wrong.

Godfather
The Telugu remake of Lucifer, Godfather’s story is centred around the events that take place amidst the mysterious demise of a veteran chief minister. When a number of players try to take advantage of the situation, the deceased minister’s stepson steps in.

The Vikas Bahl directorial follows the story of a dysfunctional family and follows how different members deal with the unexpected loss of a loved one.

Code Name: Tiranga
Code Name: Tiranga follows the story of a skilled secret agent who is tasked with a covert mission of uncovering the whereabouts of a dreaded terrorist in hiding. When she unexpectedly falls in love on the mission and finds her identity compromised, she is faced with a difficult choice to make.

Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1
Based on the story of the Chola dynasty, this Mani Ratnam directorial follows the story of how the ruler incumbent, Sundara Chola, finds his throne in danger of being taken away by a number of players. Although the ailing king plans of handing over his crown to his sons, his trusted commanders and the vengeful Pandyas stand in the way.

Rorschach
This psychological thriller stars Mammootty as Luke Antony, a UK returned citizen who approaches a police station in a remote village with a complaint that his wife has gone missing following a nasty car accident the two were in. Even after the police declare the search futile, Luke refuses to give up, and the people around him start to suspect his motives.
