Lokah plot and cameos revealed: Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino Thomas and another star in pivotal roles

Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen's upcoming Malayalam film, Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, is all set to hit the big screen soon. The fantasy thriller's narrative and guest appearances are revealed in its censor certificate, which is currently available online on social media.

Lokah plot and cast details

The narrative of this thriller centres on Chandra, an elusive young woman who recently relocated to Bangalore and starts working nights at a cafe. Sunny and Venu, two unemployed bachelors, reside across the street from her flat. After witnessing Chandra's peculiar conduct and withdrawn demeanour, Sunny falls in love with her. 

The main focus of the film is how they discover the mystery surrounding Chandra and why she is there. Malayalam's popular actors, Tovino Thomas, Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Wayne also have cameos, according to the censor report. Meanwhile, the teaser and trailer for this fantasy thriller had hinted at some intriguing guest roles. Some online users are also speculating on Mammootty appearing in guest role in the movie.

However, Lokah is not the only Onam movie that will have cameos by prominent actors; Meera Jasmine and Basil Joseph are reportedly making brief appearances in Mohanlal-starrer Hridayapoorvam, another Malayalam film that will make its big screen debut on the same day.

Lokah release date update

The film will debut in theatres on August 28. The movie's inclusion in the Wayfarer Cinematic Universe has already been revealed, and prequels and sequels are in the works, according to the makers. Actress Santhy Balachandran wrote the script for this fantasy thriller, which has been directed by Dominic Arun. 

In Lokah, Kalyani Priyadarshan will play the title character, Chandra, who possesses superhuman capabilities. In addition to Chandu Salimkumar, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, Nishanth Sagar, and Vijayaraghavan in supporting parts, Naslen plays Sunny. Dulquer Salmaan provides financial support for the film through Wayfarer Films. In Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, which is releasing on August 29, Kalyani portrays the main female part.
