Loki Season 2 directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are open to direct Avengers: Secret Wars, if Marvel calls

One of the shows that have kept the hopes in Marvel alive for the fandom spread across the world is Loki. The Loki Season 2 that aired recently on Disney+ took the fans by storm as it continued to be a nuanced show about one of the most complex characters in the realm of superheroes. Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are now being hailed for being one of the best director duos, and they now talk about their interest in working on Avengers: Secret Wars. 

For the unversed, Loki season 2 made it clear that it connected very strongly with Avengers: Secret Wars. If you ask how? The show that deals with a multiverse problem takes us to the end of time, where we first meet Kang variant He Who Remains. The end of time is also a void called the Battleworld. Now, interestingly, Secret Wars is also set in the Battleworld, which Loki is the God of right now. 

So when Loki Season 2 directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead sat down with ComicBook for a conversation, they were indeed asked about their interest in directing Avengers: Secret Wars. The two were quick to say that they are up for it if they get a call. "You know what's funny is we come from independent feature films, so we come from movies," Moorhead said. "I mean there's absolutely no telling what our future holds."

"Right now we sort of have a day-to-day. We run this company where we mostly are, I guess we would describe ourselves as filmmakers, but more specifically we're like writer, director, actor, editors, and it's kind of a different life than this one. But that said, there's always this life and that life going simultaneously. We never know what the future holds. We just try to keep up,” Benson said.

"Yeah and they both feed each other really well too," Loki 2 co-director Moorhead added. "We like to make sure they both stay alive." Both Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have together worked on Moon Knight and are also working on Daredevil: Born Again for Marvel studios.
