After completing his shooting in Srijit Mukherji’s Tekka, Loknath Dey will soon travel to Tripura for a brand-new independent film, Parabashi. Kinjal Nanda will also be a part of the film. In an interview with OTTplay, Loknath Dey talked about the film earlier. Director Monet Roy Saha has planned his debut film based on the struggle of a family in their endeavour to come to India from East Pakistan.

The director was born in Tripura and lives in Mumbai. He is associated with TV ad films. Talking about the film to Anandabazar Online, he said, “I finished my studies in sculpture and then went to the FTII in Pune. I experienced that most people didn't know anything about Tripura’s history during the Partition. I started gathering information on the subject. Then I found this story.”

Anil Chandra Debnath is the writer and producer of the film. Loknath plays Nimai Master and Kinjal plays his son. Swati Mukherjee, Sabuj Bardhan, Ankhi Ghosh, and Debapratim Dasgupta play other important roles. Some local actors from Agartala are also in the film. Countless number of people are still bearing the brunt of the Partition. The film will delve into the lives of these people.

The look set has already been done. The film, produced by Purba Diganta Film Production, will start its shooting in Tripura in February.
