Love is a tonic that tests your patience, sometimes by leaving you longing for someone while they're alive and the other times by taking the love of your life. Sidharth Malhotra's Shershaah explored that love recently but long ago, Imtiaz Ali's film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri in the lead role explored incomplete, eternal love.
Love is the driving force for Jordan
Jordan (Ranbir) is passionate about music. He learns that he needs to break his heart in order to create the right music. Just then, he meets the girl of his dreams in Heer (Nargis). Since Heer is bound by societal pressure, she rejects Jordan instantly and then, time-and-again. Thus, something inside Jordan breaks but not enough to give up on his love.
Love can be understood by the two people involved only
Every love is different and every person in love understands that love differently. Jordan and Heer's love was something that the world could never understand but they did and that was enough for them.
A 'complicated', eternal kind of love
Shah Rukh Khan's Rahul had said in Kuch Kuch Hota, "Hum Ek Baar Jeete Hai, Ek Baar Marte Hai, Shaadi Bhi Ek Baar Hoti Hai aur Pyaar? Ek Baar Hi Hota Hai." Jordan and Heer lived the reality of this dialogue. They lived, really lived, just once - with each other. Heer died, leaving Jordan all alone. They were bound to each other eternally and Jordan never fell in love again because the one time he did, it was enough.
One-of-a-kind love
Jordan and Heer's love is one-of-a-kind and that which should be cherished in the '6 Din Ladki In' culture. It is the kind of love that lasts in the times of right swipe. It is a love that is patient because it knows the wait will be worth it.
