In a collaboration that will give goosebumps for horror fans, Blumhouse is gearing up to adapt a novel written by the King of horror himself, Stephen King. The author’s novel Later will be adapted into a limited series by Blumhouse, with Lucy Liu set to star in the same.
According to a report in Deadline, the upcoming mini-series is created by Raelle Tucker, who has also written the script for its pilot episode. Tucker is best known for her work on shows such as True Blood and Jessica Jones. Tucker had referred to the opportunity of collaborating with Blumhouse, King and Liu as ‘a dream come true’.

and her young son Jamie. When her star author dies, she finds herself in financial turmoil until she discovers her son’s ability to communicate with the dead. Both Tia and her detective girlfriend use the boy’s gift to advance their own interests but soon come to the realisation that Jamie’s gift comes at a great cost.
The current project marks Blumhouse’s second adaptation of one of King’s works. It is also currently producing an adaptation of King’s short story titled Mr Harrigan’s Phone for Netflix. The story is a part of the author’s anthology novel, If It Bleeds. The project stars Donald Sutherland and Jaeden Martell in lead roles and is directed by John Lee Hancock.
Later is the latest of King’s books to be adapted to the silver screen. His previous works such as The Shining, It,
Pet Sematary, Doctor Sleep, In the Tall Grass and 1922 have all got screen adaptations.
Meanwhile Liu will also be seen in the upcoming DC film Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
