Maalik OTT release details
Maalik will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video, unveiled during its theatrical release. The OTT release of a theatrical movie traditionally takes place within six to eight weeks. Hence, you can expect Maalik to arrive on Prime Video between August 22 and September 19. However, the official confirmation is yet to be released.
About Maalik
Maalik is an action-thriller gangster drama starring Rajkummar Rao, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and Manushi Chhillar. The film is set in 1980s Allahabad and follows the story of Deepak, a young man from a farming family, who becomes a powerful gangster 'Maalik.' The story explores themes of ambition, violence, and the corrupting effects of power, as Malik navigates the criminal underworld and clashes with rivals and authorities.
The narrative also explores Malik's personal life, including his relationship with his wife Shalini and his parents. This film delves deeply into the corrupting effects of power, betrayal, and the consequences of Malik's choices as his popularity grows.
Maalik also casts Huma Qureshi, Anshuman Pushkar, Swanand Kirkire, and others. Directed by Pulkit, the movie is produced by Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani. The writers of Maalik are Pulkit and Jyotsana Nath.
Meanwhile, as per Sacnilk, Maalik has managed to collect Rs. 19.70 crore so far. It has started slowly at the box office and failed to impress.
Speaking about Rajkummar's work front, the actor was previously seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf, co-starring Wamiqa Gabbi. The film did decently at the box office. The actor will also be seen in a biopic based on the life of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly.
In an earlier interview with NDTV, Rajkummar confirmed that he is playing the biopic and added, "Now that Dada (Sourav Ganguly) has already said it, let me also make it official - yes, I am playing him in his biopic. I am nervous... It's a huge responsibility, but it's going to be a lot of fun."
