Talking about his character in the film at the press meet held in Chennai today, Sivakarthikeyan said, "Just like how Doctor had me in a different role, my character arc in Maaveeran is a unique one, this time around in the fantasy action genre, set in a realistic backdrop. Sivakarthikeyan also stated that a film is a team's responsibility and not a one-man show. "Sometimes when we think of an idea, it might not end up working, just like my last film (Prince, which turned out to be a box office failure). If a film fails, I will take responsibility for it. If it turns out to be a hit, the credit goes to the entire team.

Sivakarthikeyan plays a cartoonist in Maaveeran, whose cartoons come alive in real life in the form of a fictional character called Maaveeran. When the  superhero emerges, Sivakarthikeyan undergoes a sea change in his personality. The trailer of the film has already won many hearts.

In her sophomore film, Aditi Shankar plays a journalist, whose character is poles apart from her character in real life. What's interesting is that there aren't many romantic portions in the film.

Mysskin, who plays the prime antagonist in the film, stated that Madonne Ashwin was a talent to look out for and that his journey will span three to four decades. " He bagged a National Award for his maiden venture, and Sivarkathikeyan is part of his second project. I am sure this film will be a huge hit.
