Nivin Pauly and Asif Ali’s upcoming film Mahaveeryar, which promises to be a film of firsts for both the seasoned stars, has finally unveiled its first look poster. The vibrant and colourful poster certainly delivers on its promise of a unique and unexpected storyline.

The poster, which Nivin unveiled on his official social media handles, sees him donned in the attire of a hermit, complete with long dreadlocks, rudraksh beads and a stick. Behind him is Asif, in an ensemble that is indicative of someone regal like a king. The background is an array of colours that can put rainbows to shame. The post also featured a second poster depicting an hourglass clock.

In a press meet, Asif had talked about how it was the first time he and Nivin had gotten the opportunity to do a film as different and unique as Mahaveeryar. The film has been directed by Abrid Shine, and the actor said there is always something new to look forward to the filmmaker’s projects. The film is also distinctive in that it is the first time that Shine is directing a project with a script, penned by someone else. M Mukundan has conceptualised the upcoming film’s script and story.

Talking about the film’s premise, the star said that the concept it deals with is so unique and distinctive that it made him wonder if it was even possible to helm such a film in Malayalam, adding that a lot of effort went behind making it. He also expressed his excitement for the character he plays, saying how impatient he is for audiences to see it.

The upcoming film also features Shanvi Srivastava, Lal, Mallika Sukumaran, Lalu Alex, Sudheer Karamana, Major Ravi and Krishnaprasad.
