Maidaan teaser: Power-packed performance, gripping tale and full on emotions is what this Ajay Devgn starrer looks like

The day before Bholaa is released, the first teaser for Maidaan is released. One of Ajay Devgn's most ambitious projects to date, Maidaan tells the true story of Syed Abdul Rahim, an unsung hero who made history and records for India that, even 60 years later, we are still unable to match in the most popular sport in the world, football.

“Maidaan is my personal favorite. I rarely say this, it's one of the best films I’ve done. It has shaped up very well. Every department of the film, the storytelling, the direction, the performances, everything looks outstanding. It’s a sports coach, but sports is the backdrop. Basically, it’s a very human story of a man and his struggle and his dreams and his family. So that’s lovely,” Ajay Devgn told Variety.

Together with Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh, the movie also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and others. Amit Ravindernath Sharma is the director; Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, Akash Chawla, and Zee Studios are the producers; Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah respectively wrote the screenplay and dialogue; and AR Rahman composed the music. On June 23, 2023, the movie will open in theatres all around the world.
