Major: Adivi Sesh's multilingual film wraps up censor formalities, certified U/A

Adivi Sesh's dream project Major is almost here and the team has planned an interesting series of promotional activities to raise curiosity among audiences. The makers are set to host previews across nine cities in the country paving way for its release on June 3. The biopic of armyman Sandeep Unnikrishnan, directed by Goodachari-fame Sashi Kiran Tikka, also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murli Sharma.

Meanwhile, the film has wrapped its censor formalities and was certified U/A by the CBFC board. Major has a runtime of 149 minutes. While the initial half an hour of the film showcases the colourful side to the protagonist, the narrative later showcases his motivation behind joining the army and several incidents leading up to the 26/11 blasts. While Saiee Manjrekar plays his romantic interest Isha, Sobhita will be seen as a Telugu speaking woman Pramoda, based on a real character.

The second hour will reportedly offer an edge-of-the-seat experience for spectators with a flurry of intense action and emotional sequences. The team plans to release the video version of the first single, Hrudayama, sung by Sid Sriram tomorrow. Sricharan Pakala has scored the music for Major. Vamsi Patchipulusu is the cinematographer. Sony Pictures is bankrolling the film in collaboration with A+S Movies and Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment.

Major will simultaneously release in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi and is set to clash with other biggies like Kamal Haasan's Vikram and Akshay Kumar's historic drama Prithviraj. Adivi Sesh's next after Major is Hit 2, the sequel to Vishwak Sen's thriller Hit, helmed by Sailesh Kolanu.
