The new year is looking to be one of new beginnings for Adivi Sesh who is gearing up for his Hindi debut with the film, Major. As promised by the makers, the first single from the film, Hrudayama, was unveiled today.
The song’s launch definitely did not run short of star power as Mahesh Babu and Dulquer Salmaan released the single. While Babu released its Telugu version, Salmaan launched the Malayalam version of the song, titled Pon Malare.
With its soft melodies and airy lyrics, the song proves to resonate with the heartfelt romance it promised, and so does the clip that accompanies the single. The song gives viewers a glimpse into the love story of a young soldier and his beloved, forced to be apart from each other when duty calls him away. The two get through the ordeal by reminiscing of their time together and by sending each other letters and photographs.
The song has lyrics penned by Krishna Kanth and V.N.V. Ramesh Kumar, and features vocals by Sid Sriram, who makes an appearance in the music video as well.
Major traces the story of the late Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred in action during the tragic November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The film will give viewers a glimpse into the martyr’s childhood and early army days until his final act of heroism.
The upcoming film is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and produced under the banners of Sony Pictures India, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment and A+S Movies. The film stars Adivi Sesh and Sobhita Dhulipala and Saiee Manjrekarin lead roles, along with Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murli Sharma.
Major will be released in theatres on February 11 in Hindi, Malayalam and Telugu.
