Mammootty-starrer Kannur Squad’s new track, Mrudhu Bhaave Dhruda Kruthye, has been released. The song’s lyrics align with the motto of Kerala Police. Directed by Roby Varghese Raj, Kannur Squad is an investigative drama film inspired by the real-life experiences of a division of the state’s police force. In the movie, Mammootty plays George, a police officer who leads a team of officers in pursuit of criminals. The story follows the journey of a group of committed police officers, as they apprehend criminals.

Sushin Shyam has composed Mrudhu Bhaave Dhruda Kruthye for Kannur Squad

Musician Sushin Shyam - who is known for his compositions for films such as Kumbalangi Nights, Guppy and Bheeshma Parvam - has composed a unique song, Bhaave Dhruda Kruthye, for Kannur Squad. Unlike what is typically expected for this genre, the slow-moving track effectively conveys the challenges and obstacles faced by police officers in their line of duty.

The song can also be seen as a tribute to Kerala Police, as Mrudhu Bhaave Dhruda Kruthye is their motto. Vinayak Sasikumar wrote the lyrics for the song, while Shyam himself lent his voice to it. The song has elements reminiscent of Shyam’s previous works, such as Cherathukal from Kumbalangi Nights.

According to the makers, Kannur Squad chronicles the challenges the officers face as they chase the criminals.

The film will hit the theatres on September 28. The technical department includes Muhammad Rahil (as cinematographer) and Praveen Prabhakar (as editor). Bankrolled by Mammootty, the script of Kannur Squad is penned by Rony David and Muhammed Shafi.
