Mammootty, who has already begun the year on a high with Amal Neerad’s Bheeshma Parvam, is all set to join the sets of Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha director Nisam Basheer’s next. The movie went on floors on March 30 in Chalakkudy.
The megastar, who recently wrapped up shooting for his Telugu action-thriller Agent, will join the sets of the Malayalam film on April 3. The yet-to-be-titled movie marks the second production by Mammootty Kampany after Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam.
The film has Sharafudheen, Jagadish, Grace Antony, Kottayam Nazir and Bindu Panicker in pivotal roles. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Nisam said, “The film is a thriller. It will be made keeping the theatre audience in mind.” The main locations of the movie, which is scripted by Iblis and Adventures of Omanakuttan writer Samir Abdul, will be Chalakudy and Kochi.
Nisam’s directorial will also mark the Malayalam debut of music director Midhun Mukundan, who had composed the tracks for Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana and Ondu Motteya Kathe. Nimish Ravi, who had cranked the camera for Dulquer Salmaan’s Kurup, is the cinematographer.
Meanwhile, Mammootty has an exciting month in store in April. The actor’s Bheeshma Parvam, which has already become his highest grossing film ever, is set to drop on Disney+ Hotstar on April 1. He is also set to mark his OTT debut with Ratheena PT’s Puzhu, which also has Parvathy Thiruvothu in the lead. Touted to be an intense crime thriller, the film, scripted by Suhas, Sharfu and Harshad, will release on Sony LIV reportedly on April 8.
The actor also has a theatrical release at the end of the month, with K Madhu’s investigative thriller CBI 5: The Brain set to hit cinema halls worldwide on April 28 as Eid release.
