Man of the Match Trailer: D. Satya Prakash’s latest is a social experiment that looks both comical and diabolical

D. Satya Prakash is one among the many refreshing voices of the new-age Kannada Film Industry. His previous films like ‘Rama Rama Re...’ have received tremendous praise for the novelty and a genuine sense of rootedness, and his new ventures has continued to pique the interests of the Kannada audiences. In this very vein comes ‘Man of the Match’, a new comedy-drama that is slated to release straight on Amazon Prime Video on the 5th of May. In the lead-up to the worldwide premiere, the team has now released the very first trailer of the film.

Produced by PRK Productions, ‘Man of the Match’ is centered on a film audition held by a quirky filmmaker whose methods of engagement with the aspiring actors forms a rather interesting narrative. As seen in the trailer, the filmmaker, played by Nataraj S. Bhat, gives out unusual scenarios for the actors to be part of and over time, one realizes that there’s more to this “audience” than meets eye. While the trailer suggests that ‘Man of the Match’ is a comedy at heart, a few portions do reveal elements of a social experiment in the story.

Speaking to OTTplay recently about the film, director D. Satya Prakash said: “I am particularly excited about this because I have cast many fresh talents for the film and I would want to know how they fare on screen. We had initially wished to have the world digital premiere in February but the influx of big films meant that we had to wait it all out. I am glad it’s finally happening now”.

Along with Nataraj S. Bhat, the cast of Man of the Match also includes Dharmanna Kadooru, Veena Sundar, Atharva Prakash, Mayuri Nataraj, and many others with Vasuki Vaibhav too featuring as an actor. The film will be premiered on May 5 on Amazon Prime Video.
