Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan teaser gets 20 million views

The teaser of Mani Ratnam's much-awaited magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan was released recently. The film, which is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy's Ponniyin Selvan, is one of Mani Ratnam's most ambitious projects. The latest we hear is that the teaser has already crossed 20 million views online. The team has been releasing the character posters since earlier this week. The star comprises Vikram (as Aditya Karikalan), Karthi (Vanthiyathevan), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Nandini), Trisha (Kundavai) and Jayam Ravi (Raja Raja Cholan). The other character posters that are yet to be revealed are said to be Parthiban (Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar) Vikram Prabhu (Senthan Amuthan), Aishwarya Lekshmi (Poonkuzhali), Ashwin Kakumanu (Kandanmaran), Rahman (Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyar), Sarath Kumar (Sundara Chola), Prabhu (Aniruddha Brahmarayar), Jayaram (Azhwarkadiyan Nambi), Lal (Ravidasan), Kishore (Theveralaan). Music for the film is by AR Rahman. Cinematography is by Ravi Varman and editing is by Sreekar Prasad. Art direction is by Thota Tharrani.

In the meantime, the teaser has won a lot of praise from the film fraternity. While Harish Kalyan wrote on his social media page,"An epic novel made into a film by the epic director, the genius #Maniratnam sir ❤️ I'm sure this film will be etched in history as one of the best films ever made.
