Mark Antony: Vishal sets his career's biggest opening with Adhik Ravichandran's quirky gangster flick

Mark Antony, which hit the screens in Tamil and Telugu on Friday, has been garnering good response. The Vishal-starrer directed by Adhik Ravichandran has appealed to the target audience and the weekend collection is expected to witness a surge.

The actor's presence along with SJ Suryah's acting and GV Prakash's music are highlights of the gangster drama. The time travel element in the film is another aspect which is entertaining the audience. Vinoth Kumar has produced the movie which will be released in Hindi on September 22.

Vishal sets his career's biggest opening with Mark Antony

The movie is likely to be a big break for the actor. His last hit movie was Irumbu Thirai which was released in 2018. Mark Antony generated good buzz among cinephiles ever since its trailer was launched. The film had taken an impressive opening on Friday and has grossed more than 7 crores from Tamil Nadu.

The movie's worldwide collection is said to be more than 10 crores. It has surpassed the likes of Maaveeran, Pathu Thala and Vaathi which were released earlier this year. It is also the biggest opening in Vishal's career.

Vishal bats for a cause

The actor posted a video this morning thanking the audience for their support and love. He announced that the money from every movie ticket would be contributed to the welfare of farmers. This has left many of his fans elated. He further added that he would remember the appreciation he received for the movie while working on upcoming projects.

Mark Antony marked his first outing of 2023 and the fourth film of director Adhik. The latter's long-delayed project Bagheera hit the screens this year, but opened to discouraging reviews.
