Maruthi Nagar Police Station teaser: Varalaxmi, Arav play lead roles in aha Tamil's forthcoming cop drama

Filmmaker Dayal Padmanabhan made Kondraal Paavam which had Varalaxmi in one of the leads a couple of months ago. The movie which opened to decent reports was the remake of Kannada film Aa Karaala Ratri. The director is now back with another project with Varalaxmi.

Titled Maruthi Nagar Police Station, it stars Arav, too, in the lead. Santhosh Pratap, who played a pivotal character in Kondraal Paavam, has also been roped in to essay a key role in it. Mahat Raghavendra, Yasar and Vivek Rajagopal among others will be seen in the movie, the teaser of which has been unveiled by Arya.

Tipped as a cop drama, it revolves around two cops who set out to investigate a case. Both of them are at loggerheads, and their ego affects the investigation. Will they be able to crack the case? The film will drop on aha Tamil on May 19.

The digital platform had announced earlier that the movie is going to be a direct-OTT-release. However, they kept its plot and release date under wraps. Director Dayal Padmanabhan himself has bankrolled the movie under D Pictures apart from writing lyrics for songs.  

Shekhar Chandra has cranked the camera for Maruthi Nagar Police Station while Preethi and Babu have handled editing. Chetan D'Souza has helmed action episodes and Manikanth Kadri has composed music. CS Balachander is in charge of production design. The film is aha Tamil's first direct OTT release in 2023.

Varalaxmi, Arav and Santhosh Pratap have taken to their social media handles to express excitement on the movie's teaser release and thanked Arya for releasing it.
