Rao Ramesh, who impressed crowds with his arresting performances in Peddha Kapu 1 and Nithiin starrer Extra Ordinary Man recently, is headlining a family dramedy titled Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam. Yamaleela actress Indraja plays the female lead in the film directed by Lakshman Karya (who earlier helmed Happy Wedding). The drama is produced by Lokamaatre Cinematics and PBR Cinemas.

Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam’s shoot commenced earlier this year and the makers have informed that the filming has been wrapped up. In a new still, Lakshman Karya and Rao Ramesh are praying in front of a Lord Hanuman idol commemorating the film completion. The film will be a laugh riot, aided by the comic brilliance of Rao Ramesh, the team expressed its excitement.

“Just wrapped up shooting for laughter-packed #MaruthiNagarSubramanyam, Crafted by @lakshmankarya, teamed up by the wit and comedic brilliance of #RaoRamesh. Cross your fingers, toes, and whatever else you've got that you'll adore it as much as we do!” the production house shared. Johaar, Shyam Singha Roy fame Ankith Koyya, Ramya Pasupuleti too play important roles in the film.

The film revolves around the highs and lows in the life of an unemployed middle aged man, the production house said prior to the shoot. Rao Ramesh was reportedly very cooperative during shoot, despite his packed schedule. Lakshman Karya’s dialogues are reportedly a major highlight, while the film will also discuss social media trends. The film was primarily shot in and around Hyderabad.

Ajay, Praveen and Harsha Vardhan also essay important roles in the film. Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam’s director Lakshman Karya had earlier worked on a web series titled Endukila and was also the director for a talk show - Konchem Touch Lo Unte Cheptha. Writer Padmabhushan composer Kalyan Nayak scores the music for the film while Baby fame Bal Reddy is the cinematographer.
