Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's Sanam Teri Kasam made a comeback to theatres in 2025. The film had its theatrical re-release on February 7, 2025. Following its success, producer Deepak Mukut confirmed that Sanam Teri Kasam's second installment will be released in 2026. While Harshvardhan is locked for part two, there's no clarity about Mawra reprising her role. However, in a recent interview, the actress revealed that the producer reached out to her for Sanam Teri Kasam 2.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Mawra Hocane neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of doing Sanam Teri Kasam 2. The actress said, "The producer reached out to me for the second part. I’ve not read the script yet, it’s in my inbox. I can’t say whether I’ll do it. But if they do make a part two, whether I’m in it or not, I hope it does really well."
She added that Saru (her role) is an author-backed character, which is why she agreed to do the 2016 film. Mawra opined that 'women characters weren't so meaty' earlier. Continuing the conversation, Mawra reacted to Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan praising her movie Sanam Teri Kasam upon its re-release.
"Mr Bachchan is a legend and he saw my movie! It will always be a cherished feeling. Vidya-ji has my heart. She did women-oriented roles when no one was doing them. It was my wedding reception and my husband [Ameer Gilani] told me that Vidya-ji has praised me. I was over the moon," Mawra shared.
On the film front, Mawra Hocane made her Bollywood debut with Sanam Teri Kasam in 2016. However, the actress didn't feature in any Hindi films later due to a ban on Pakistani artistes after the Uri attack. The actress has, however, done several Pakistani TV shows like Sabaat, Aangan, Daasi, Sammi, Haasil, and more.
