Sanam Teri Kasam Re-Release Box Office Day 9: As Chhaava continues its box office dominance, overshadowing most other releases, one film that remains steady is the re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam. Starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, the 2016 film was re-released on February 7, 2025, benefiting from the Valentine’s week buzz. Even after the day of love, the film continues to perform consistently.
Earlier, we reported that Sanam Teri Kasam had already become a profitable venture, considering its ₹9 crore lifetime earnings from its original 2016 release, along with its re-release collections. Made on an ₹18 crore budget, the film has now found its audience, marking a remarkable journey.
On day 9 of its re-release, Sanam Teri Kasam earned ₹2.25 crore at the domestic box office, according to India Times, bringing its total re-release earnings in India to ₹30.75 crore. When added to the original run’s ₹9 crore, the film’s cumulative box office now stands at ₹39.75 crore. It re mains to be seen whether it can cross the ₹50 crore milestone.
In a recent Hindustan Times interview, Harshvardhan Rane revealed he was not the first choice for the film. He shared, “I reached four months late for the audition, and the makers had already cast someone else, who was sitting in the next room. They had done all the costume fittings, and the poster shoot was in two days. I begged them to let me audition. They finally agreed, and after two to three hours, they hugged me and said, ‘Tumne hamara bahut nuksaan kara diya’ (You caused us a lot of trouble).”
He also recalled crossing paths with the actor he replaced, Ehan Bhat, who handled the situation maturely. Interestingly, they later worked together in Dange.Regarding the much-awaited Sanam Teri Kasam 2, Rane commented, “I could have answered this question if I came from a film family. As an actor, I have no control over creative decisions. If I had any influence, I wouldn’t have had to fight for a re-release. If the sequel gets delayed, I’ll fast for 11 days outside the producer’s office. What else can I do without industry connections?”
