Sanam Teri Kasam is a rage in Indian theatres, even with Vicky Kaushal's latest movie Chhaava catching up fast. The original film featured Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, and it is their chemistry that the viewers loved when they experienced it on OTT. Nine years back, when Sanam Teri Kasam released in theatres, it was a flop and now, it is about to reclaim itself as a superhit. Mawra gave her first interview since the re-release of the film in Indian theatres, and it also happens to be after she is a married woman. During the interview, she spoke about Sanam Teri Kasam 2. Here's everything she said...
Just like the viewers, Mawra Hocane wants to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam 2. While talking to Connect Cine on video, Mawra said, "Agar possible hua toh of course, I would also love to."
Fans love Mawra and Harshvardhan's chemistry. Sanam Teri Kasam had a sad, heartbreaking end for the characters of Inder and Saru (played by Rane and Hocane respectively). She died in the movie but ardent fans want to see her be reincarnated if necessary.
Although that is the fans' demand, the reality right now is that Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is on hold over copyright issues. Once that is sorted, there is a ban on Pakistani artists in India. That would make it nearly impossible for the makers to shoot with Mawra. Thus, the reality, at least for now, is that Mawra cannot be a part of the project. If things ease up with time, then only the scenario is possible. But for now, Mawra cannot be a part of the project.
There were reports that the search for a new female lead for Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is on. This time, we are likely to see an Indian actress work alongside Harshvardhan Rane. But, the makers need to get the rights to the sequel cleared before moving ahead with the project. But Rane is determined to take the film ahead and so, things might just work out. With time, we would know the whole truth.
