Modern Love Chennai, which brings together veteran filmmakers and newbies, dropped on Amazon Prime Video on May 18. The project, consisting of six short films helmed by Rajumurugan, Akshay Sundher, Bharathiraja, Thiagarajan Kumararaja, Krishnakumar Ramakumar and Balaji Sakthivel, has music composed by Ilaiyaraaja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, GV Prakash and Sean Roldan.

The anthology has been garnering good response from film buffs, especially the ones directed by Balaji Sakthivel, Bharathiraja and Thiagarajan Kumararaja. Cinephiles are going gaga over the performances of various artists in it.

Singer Srinivas has now taken to his social media page to express excitement after listening to Ilaiyaraaja's composition in the anthology. He has scored music for Akshay Sundher's Margazhi, Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Ninaivo Oru Paravai and Bharathiraja's Paravai Kootil Vaazhum Maangal. What impressed the singer is the raw and live nature of the maestro's songs, apart from the lack of overproduction.

He also heaped praise on the no "auto tune" approach Raaja resorts to while composing music. According to him, it is this quality which makes him human and alive. He added, "What marks his music is the sheer effortlessness and no attempt to impress. So nice to see simple music back (sic)."

However, Srinivas expressed one concern he had. He felt that sound engineer H Sridhar had recorded and mixed it. Many music lovers and Raaja fans seemed to have agreed with Srinivas, going by the opinions in the comment section.

What left many stunned and elated in the anthology is the reunion of legends Bharathiraja and Raaja. A few had expressed concerns over the collaboration of Thiagarajan Kumararaja and Raaja, but the two of them came up with something which has impressed film enthusiasts.
