Mohanlal announces Malaikottai Vaaliban challenge; drops a fun workout video

Mohanlal, who bounced back to Malayalam cinema with the massive success of Neru, is now eagerly awaiting the release of his next outing Malaikottai Vaaliban. The highly anticipated project, which is helmed by renowned filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery, is set to have a grand theatrical release on January 25, 2024. Ahead of the release, the makers of the much-awaited movie are planning a unique promotional campaign, including releasing a comic book. Now, leading man Mohanlal has now surprised the audiences by announcing the ‘Vaaliban challenge’.

Mohanlal drops a fun workout video as he announces Vaaliban challenge

The Malayalam superstar, who is set to essay the titular character in the Lijo Jose Pellissery film, took to his official social media handles and shared a fun workout video. “I am calling this the #VaalibanChallenge! Do you accept? #VaalibanVaraar,” wrote Mohanlal, who shared the glimpses of his intense workout regimen, for the period fantasy film.

The veteran actor is seen performing an intense weight training in the video, which is now going viral. Mohanlal looks majestic as always in the video, in an all-black gym look, twirled mustache, and his signature thick beard. According to the Vaaliban Challenge, both the audiences and celebs are expected to share their workout videos with the Malaikottai Vaaliban team, before the release of the movie.

The team is reportedly planning to pick the best videos from the entries and share them on both Mohanlal’s social media handle, as well as the official handle of the film. More updates on the same are expected to be out very soon. Along with the Vaaliban Challenge, the team is also planning to announce a few more fun activities, before the much-awaited release of the film.

Mohanlal’s role in Malaikottai Vaaliban

As reported earlier, Mohanlal is set to play a legendary warrior who proved himself as a reigning hero across timelines, in the movie. Malaikottai Vaaliban is supported by his aids, Chinnappaiyyan and Ayyanar. Vaaliban’s life takes a different turn after he meets Rangapattinam Rangarani, a famous dancer.

Meanwhile, Chamathakan, the antagonist who follows Vaaliban throughout his journey also makes a move, and this leads the hero to his ultimate challenge. The Malayalam superstar is set to perform some high-voltage stunts in the film, which is touted to be the most unique of his acting career.
