The team of Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham has been on their toes ever since it was announced that the movie will release in theatres on December 2. While this has cut short the time required to market such a huge project, the makers are using the most of it by releasing the character posters and lately, even its epic theme.
Mohanlal today released the grand orchestral theme of the movie that was composed by musician Rahul Raj. The tune, which the audience first heard along with the trailer that was released over a year ago, was unveiled on Saina’s YouTube channel. The score, however, is the teaser version and we are sure that the cinematic theme is sure to give the audience goosebumps when accompanied with the Mohanlal-starrer’s several battle sequences.
Rahul had earlier said that Priyadarshan wanted the score to be on par with global standards and wanted a feel of the music heard in movies such as Ben Hur and 10 Commandments. Judging from the theme, he seems to have done justice to that. Rahul will also be composing for Mohanlal’s mass entertainer Aaraattu, which is directed by B Unnikrishnan. The film is slated to hit theatres on February 10.
Marakkar, meanwhile, is expected to draw huge crowds back to the theatres, following the lead of Dulquer Salmaan’s Kurup. The period film, which has Mohanlal playing the titular role of Kunjali Marakkar IV, has a huge star cast that also features Prabhu, Manju Warrier, Suniel Shetty, Arjun Sarja, Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan.
Sabu Cyril has worked as the art director with Thiru serving as the cinematographer of the film, which was adjudged the Best Feature Film in this year’s National Awards.
