Malayalam actor-filmmaker Vineeth Sreenivasan is gearing up for the release of his next directorial, after the 2024 hit Varshangalkku Shesham. Vineeth has once again joined hands with producer Visakh Subramaniam for his latest venture after two successful outings. The upcoming Malayalam movie is slated to release in September 2025. But Visakh has now revealed that they had initially planned the film as an Onam 2025 release. And the reason for the postponement is Mohanlal’s film Hridayapoorvam, which is set to hit theatres for Onam.
The young producer Visakh Subramaniam has collaborated with Vineeth Sreenivasan for Hridayam, and Varshangalkku Shesham. Speaking to The Cue Studio about his third collaboration with Vineeth, Vishakh said that they initially had plans for an Onam release, but thought of avoiding a clash with Mohanlal's Hridayapoorvam. The yet-to-be-titled film now aims for a September 25, 2025, release , for the Pooja holidays.
“Both me and Vieenth have years of bond with him. So we did not want to have a clash with a Lalettan film, and moved the date to Pooja release,” Visakh Subramaniam told The Cue Studio.
The film, touted to be a thriller, features Noble Babu Thomas in the lead. Shaan Rahman is also back has the music director, along with Jomon T John as the cinematographer. Thira, a 2013 movie, was the last thriller film helmed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, who is usually known for more light-hearted movies.
Notably, Vineeth Sreenivasan's last two movies as a director - Varshangalkku Shesham and Hridayam - featured Mohanlal's son Pranav Mohanlal.

On the other hand, Mohanlal’s upcoming film Hridayapoorvam is slated to hit theatres as an Onam release. The film reunites him with veteran Malayalam director Sathyan Anthikad, increasing the excitement around the project. Malavika Mohanan plays the female lead along with Sangeeth Prathap of Premalu fame, which also features Sangita Madhavan Nair.
