More than 1,000 tickets for Mohanlal's eagerly awaited movie Malaikottai Vaaliban were purchased online in just one hour in Kochi, thanks to the film's strong pre-sales. The film, which is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, is set to hit the big screen on January 25.

On the first day of pre-sale, the fantasy period drama made Rs 1.34 crore from 1,204 shows across multiple online ticket booking platforms. With only two days remaining before the film's official release, movie buffs and fans of the actor are growing more and more excited about the snippets from the movie that are being released every day.

The film's producers and cast have been promoting it extensively, which has increased public anticipation for this Mohanlal starrer. After Jeethu Joseph's Neru, this actor is expected to make another blockbuster with this film. Additional shows are anticipated by film enthusiasts due to the long weekend owing to Republic Day.

The actor said in a recent interview that the movie is a fantasy adventure that is similar to tales that people may have heard as children or read in Amar Chitra Katha. Malaikottai Vaaliban, the wrestler he portrays, is a nomadic figure shrouded in mystery.

Aside from Malayalam, the fantasy movie is scheduled to premiere on December 25 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. Given Lijo Jose Pellissery's prior critically acclaimed works, including Angamaly Diaries and Jallikettu, there is a great deal of anticipation for his first collaborative project with Mohanlal.
