Radhika Apte is known for her intense performances in web series and films. And she says that because of this, many people think that she is a serious person in real life, adding that the opposite is true.

Radhika told Film Companion in a recent interview: "Perception is a strange thing, and I faced problems because of it in the past. Until I did Badlapur, people thought for the longest time that I could only play a village girl. Then, people thought I could only do sex comedies because I could strip (referring to one of the scenes in Badlapur). Of course, I did not say yes when I got offers to play those roles."

She added, "After some of my meetings, people have told me that they initially thought that I was a serious person but were surprised that I am actually quite fun. That's like an insult! I mean, just because I have played roles in projects that were leaning towards serious subjects, it does not mean that I am always serious in real life."

The actress also mentioned that one can easily find out about people on social media to understand that every individual has different shades to them.

In Mrs Undercover, Radhika plays an undercover agent-turned-homemaker who nabs a serial killer.

Asked what myths about Bollywood she would bust as an undercover agent, Radhika said, "First of all, I want to tell everyone that we are people just like you — normal, regular people who work as actors. I think we put Bollywood people on a pedestal; most people either think they are like God or that Bollywood is a bad world. But we are a part of the same society, and we are absolutely the same."

She added, "Another thing I would like to mention is that working in Bollywood is very hard — the business is really very hard. You see the glamour and glitz, but the audience does not see the sleepless nights, the relentless hours, the immense insecurity, the crazy competition, and the pure hard work. So, yes, these are the two myths about Bollywood that I would like to bust."

Mrs Undercover, directed by Anushree Mehta, also stars Rajesh Sharma, Sumeet Vyas, Laboni Sarkar, Biswajit Chakraborty, and Saheb Chatterjee. It will be available to stream on OTTplay and ZEE5 starting April 14.
