Still a newbie in the industry, actor Ishan Mishra seems to be quite happy to be part of director Santosh Sivan’s much talked-about action thriller film, Mumbaikar, which is currently streaming on JioCinema. Featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Vikrant Massey, Ranvir Shorey, Tanya Maniktala, Sanjay Mishra, Sachin Khedekar and Hridhu Haroon, Mumbaikar is a remake of the 2017 Tamil film Maanagaram. Previously seen in Janhit Mein Jaari, Ishan played the character of Sunny in Mumbaikar

Speaking about being part of the movie, Ishan said, “It was quite a fanciful experience for me. Seasoned actors bring a wealth of knowledge, techniques and insights to the set, which, in turn, imparted wisdom and helped to refine my craft. It’s my second film with Brijendra Kala sir, while it was wonderful to share screen space with Sachin sir. I also had a lot of fun shooting with Hridhu, and we became very good friends during the shoot. Overall, it was a very collaborative atmosphere on the set. What more can you ask for when you happen to be part of a film directed by Santosh Sivan? I just wish I had a scene with Vijay Sethupathi sir. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to work with him in the future.”

Settled in Mumbai for the past five years, Ishan’s character Sunny is a bit of an improvident, who is employed with a corporate firm in the city. When asked how he prepared for the role, the actor said, “I studied the character’s motivations and experiences to grasp his carefree nature. Then, I began observing such individuals in real life to understand their body language, mannerisms and speech patterns. I explored the character’s impulsiveness and willingness to go with the flow and allowed myself to be open to unexpected choices during rehearsals and scenes. I also discussed his traits and intentions with Santosh sir in order to decode his vision for the character’s persona.”
