Music director Sam CS of Saani Kaayidham-fame in talks for Kaithi 2?

Sam CS, who scored the background score for Karthi's 2019 film Kaithi, is expected to reunite with filmmaker Lokesh Kanakaraj for its sequel, Kaithi 2, according to a report, published by Cinema Express.

The report, further, states Sam CS has had a conversation with Lokesh. The music composer was quoted saying, "Lokesh said Kaithi 2 was in cards. I am looking forward to it, and hope that happens."

Kaithi was produced by Dream Warrior Pictures and starred Karthi, Narain, Arjun Das, Harish Uthaman, George Maryan, and Dheena in important roles.

Meanwhile, Sam is the music director for the recently-released Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Saani Kaayidham, and Suzhal: The Vortex.

While responding to a fan's question during the Twitter Spaces session, the producer shared that work on Kaithi 2 will commence after Lokesh completes his next, Thalapathy 67, which marks the filmmaker's second collaboration with Vijay after Master.

Lokesh has also stated in a recent interview that the sequel will explore the protagonist Dilli's past as well. Considering the nascency of the project, details related to the film are currently under tight wraps.

Karthi, during the Kaithi success meet, said he was able to connect to the emotions of Dilli easily as he is also a father. "I have a daughter at home, so getting into the shoes of Dilli was easy for me. My father, Sivakumar, also loved the entire father-daughter angle in the film."

The actor was all praise for team Kaithi. "I miss working with the team, as Kaithi is one of the rare sets, where every single person respected the shooting spot and remained perfectly silent during shots. I wish all crews followed the same discipline," he said.
