Nagarjuna's action thriller The Ghost almost complete; makers announce release date

Nagarjuna, who began 2022 on a high with a success like Bangarraju, is returning in a suave,stylish avatar as an Interpol officer for his next release, The Ghost. The film is directed by Praveen Sattaru and features Sonal Chauhan as the female lead. Gul Panag and Anikha Surendran are cast in key roles as well in this action thriller, which has more or less wrapped its shoot, barring an action sequence to be canned shortly.

The Ghost, jointly bankrolled by Narayan Das Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Sharrath Marar under Sree Venkateshwara Cinemas LLP and Northstar Entertainment, will hit theatres on October 5. The team announced the news as part of the media interaction held today. Incidentally, The Ghost shares its release date with Shiva, the 1989 release that gave a firm foundation to Nagarjuna’s career and also marked the debut of director Ram Gopal Varma.

The first glimpse of the film showcasing Nagarjuna in a badass avatar was also unveiled today and the catchy background score has caught the attention of one and all. Praveen Sattaru, who claims to have grown up watching Nagarjuna's films, says he's taken extra care to project him as per his image and personality. The makers share The Ghost has all the commercial ingredients to click with the masses. 

Mukesh G is the cinematographer of the film whose crew also comprises Brahma Kadali as the art director. Dinesh Subbarayan and Kaecha handle action choreography for the film. After The Ghost, Praveen Sattaru will commence work on another action film with Varun Tej in the lead in addition to a web series for ZEE5. Nagarjuna is also awaiting the release of the mystical thriller Brahamastra, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Amitabh Bachchan.
