Nani, Mrunal Thakur’s Nani30 to clash with Venkatesh’s Saindhav at the box office

Nani, whose recent release Dasara opened to largely positive reviews and scored big at the box office collecting over Rs 100 crore, has moved onto his next; incidentally, the 30th film in his career. Tentatively titled Nani30, the film is believed to be an intense father-daughter drama, helmed by a debutant Shouryuv. Mrunal Thakur is cast as the female lead for the much-awaited project.

The untitled film, produced by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM), Vijender Reddy Teegala, and Murthy KS under Vyra Entertainments had a grand launch in Hyderabad earlier this year. The team has begun shooting for the film already and the updates around the project have caught the attention of many. Much to the surprise of audiences, the makers of Nani30 confirmed the film’s release date.

Nani30 will be a Christmas weekend release and hit theatres on December 21. This official confirmation means that the drama will lock horns with the Venkatesh, Shraddha Srinath-starrer Saindhav, which will be out on December 22. We’re barely done with the first quarter of the year and there’s already an absorbing contest on cards for Christams 2023.

Given both Saindhav and Nani30 belong to different genres - one’s a hard-core action entertainer and other is a gripping drama. The Christmas season has worked out well for Nani earlier with Shyam Singha Roy in 2021 as well. Nani30 has music by Hridayam fame composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, who’s also working on Vijay Deverakonda-Samantha starrer Kushi.

Sanu John Varughese cranks the camera, while Praveen Anthony is the editor and Jothish Shankar is the production designer respectively. Satish EVV is the executive producer. Nani30’s leading lady Mrunal Thakur is in talks for several plum projects in Tamil and Malayalam besides a flurry of Hindi films. In the coming year, Nani is expected to begin work on Hit 3, helmed by Saindhav filmmaker Sailesh Kolanu.
