Nani, who played to his strengths with his recent release Ante Sundaraniki, will be seen in a full-on action avatar in his next, Dasara. The rustic action entertainer is the first film of director Srikanth Odela bankrolled by Sudhakar Cherukuri under Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas. Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead in the project, reuniting with Nani after the super hit Nenu Local.

Telangana slang hasn’t been a constant feature in Nani’s career to date and he has made it a point to perfect his diction for his role in Dasara. The film’s story is set amidst Singareni Coal Mines in Godavarikhani (Telangana) in Peddapalli. The posters and glimpses of the film have reflected the actor’s committed efforts to stay true to the film’s setting.

A new schedule of Dasara had commenced in Hyderabad yesterday. The entire lead cast is participating in the schedule. Earlier today, the team had confirmed the film’s release date. Dasara will be hitting theatres across the globe in five languages - Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam - on March 30, 2023, coinciding with the Sri Rama Navami festival.

Given Dasara will have a four-day extended festive weekend during its release, the team is confident of drawing crowds to theatres. Interestingly, the film’s release date announcement came through a poster where Nani, with messy hair and holding a liquor bottle, is seated in the backdrop of yesteryear actress Silk Smitha. There’s an added nostalgic appeal the poster for the same reason.

Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar too play crucial roles in the film. While Zarina Wahab was cast in the role of Nani’s mother, the veteran opted out due to schedule clashes earlier this year. Santhosh Narayanan scores the music for the film which has cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan ISC. Naveen Nooli is the editor and Avinash Kolla is the production designer respectively. The stunt director duo Anbariv choreograph the action sequences.
