Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan provide lunch to the needy on their big day

Lady Superstar Nayanthara married Vignesh Shivan in an intimate ceremony held at a private resort in Mahabalipuram near Chennai. A special glass house was erected in the beachside resort from where guests could get a view of the big moment. Only a handful of guests were invited for the close-knot affair. 

Vignesh Shivan shared the pictures of the wedding with a beautiful post. He summed up the journey of their love with the words, "From Nayan mam … to Kadambari … to #Thangamey …. to my baby ….. and then my Uyir … and also my Kanmani ….. and now … MY WIFE 😇☺️😍😘❤️🥰🥰😘❤️😇😇😍😍 #WikkiNayanWedding #WikkiNayan (sic)."

And it looks the newly-married couple decided to provided lunch to needy people on their big day, incuding children from orphanages and those in old age homes. They organised annadaanam before they began their journey as a married couple. The couple we hear fed nearly one lakh people on the day.

Vignesh Shivan had confirmed the news of the wedding just two days before the big day. He had declared that though the media was not invited for the wedding, Nayanthara and he would meet the press on June 11 as married couple. He also said that they had initally planned to get married in Tirupati, but since there were many logistics issue, they decided to have their wedding in Chennai itself. The event was attended by the who's who of the industry, including Superstar Rajinikanth, who is said to have blessed the couple, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay, Ajith and family, Mani Ratnam, Suriya, KS Ravikumar, Hari, Anirudh, Rathnavelu, Atlee, Boney Kapoor, Karthi, Sarathkumar and Radikaa, Vijay, Vasanth Ravi to name a few.

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan met on the sets of their film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and fell in love. They tied the knot after dating for seven years.
