Nishvika Naidu got third time lucky with director Yogaraj Bhat, when after a cameo in Gaalipata 2 and a special number in Garadi, he finally gave her a full-fledged role in his film, Karataka Damanaka. And this time around, it was quite the bonanza – not only was it a film that had Century Star Shivarajkumar in it, but it also had actor-choreographer-filmmaker Prabhudeva and she was being paired with him.

Nishvika is quite the fabulous dancer, and yet, when it was time to put on her dancing shoes for a song with Prabhudeva, choreographed by Bhushan master, she was a bundle of nerves. Talking to Newsfirst as part of the promotions of Karataka Damanaka, which is releasing in theatres on March 8, Nishvika said that once it was decided that she and Prabhudeva would have a peppy dance number, she was fixated on impressing him with her dance skills. “I wanted to show him what I have learnt over the years and feel happy that I could perform in front of him,” says the actress.

What helped, adds the actress is that Prabhudeva made it very easy for her, through the rehearsals and the actual shoot. “Never once did I feel under pressure,” she says, adding that once you have such a comfortable environment around you, it becomes a lot easier for an artiste to perform. The actress also gave full credit to choreographer Bhushan master for how good the song eventually turned out to be.

The actress also says that Prabhudeva was very vocal in his appreciation of her work, reassuring her all the time that there was no reason for her to be nervous and that she was doing a fantabulous job. Talking about the film, Nishvika explained that the story unfolds in a village where every drop of water matters. In that village, she is a part of a family that runs a local arrack shop. The film sees the actress as a village belle yet again, which, she adds, has become quite commonplace since she did Guru Shishyaru.
