After almost two and half years, and multiple delays due to the pandemic and recently due to the arrest of its director Liju Krishna, Nivin Pauly’s Padavettu wrapped up its filming. The film’s producer Sunny Wayne confirmed the film’s pack-up through a social media video on Wednesday.

The movie, which has Nivin and Aditi Balan in the lead with a cameo by Manju Warrier, revolves around the fight of the common man against the systems that oppress them. The political thriller had gone on floors in 2019 and was delayed by over a year due to the pandemic. While shoot restarted in February in Kannur, it was soon brought to a halt after its director Liju Krishna was arrested for alleged sexual assault of a woman.

It's now reported that the team completed the shoot of the movie with the help of its associate director. Padavettu was initially set for a March 2022 release, but the political drama will be pushed to the Summer with the movie only completing production this week.

Meanwhile, Nivin has several films lined up for release. The first of these will be Rajeev Ravi’s period political drama, Thuramukham. The film, revolving around the chappa system, has him playing a labourer based in Mattanchery in the 1940s. Thuramukham also has Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, Nimisha Sajayan, Arjun Ashokan and Darshana Rajendran in pivotal roles.

He has also completed shooting for Abrid Shine’s fantasy drama Mahaveeryar, which also has Asif Ali and Shanvi Srivastava in the lead. The film, which is also co-produced by Nivin, is based on a story written by author M Mukundan and was shot predominantly in Rajasthan.

The actor, who has completed another schedule of Peranbu director Ram’s Tamil movie, is next set to join Ishq director Anuraj Manohar’s Shekhara Varma Rajavu. The movie, which is an entertainer, revolves around conflicts between its characters.
