Malayalam star Nivin Pauly will be kick-starting his new year by teaming up again with The Great Father director Haneef Adeni. The duo had previously worked together in the 2019 action drama, Mikhael.

The upcoming movie, which is set to go on floors in the UAE with Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai being the prime locations, is also co-produced by Nivin along with Listin Stephen. The movie, which is scripted and directed by Haneef, will start its shoot from January 8, according to reports.

Apart from Nivin, the movie will also have Saniya Iyappan, Vinay Forrt, Ganapathy, Balu Varghese and Jaffer Idukki as part of the cast. Nivin and Saniya had previously shared screen space in the actor’s Saturday Night, which was directed by Rosshan Andrrews. The upcoming movie, which is yet to be titled, has Vishnu Thandassery as its cinematographer and will also have a 10-day schedule in Kerala.

Meanwhile, Nivin’s recent photos in a trimmed avatar have already got fans excited for his upcoming movies this year. The actor has reportedly lost over 15 kilos as part of a naturopathy treatment at a clinic in Kollam. Nivin’s previous releases – Padavettu, Mahaveeryar and Saturday Night – failed to create the magic expected from his movies at the box office, and the actor will be hoping that this year would be different.

After he winds up work on Haneef’s film, Nivin is set to rejoin the schedule of Vinay Govind’s Thaaram, which is a full-on entertainer set against the backdrop of the film industry. The movie, which is scripted by Vivek Ranjit, also has Kayadu Lohar, Vinay Forrt and Nikhila Vimal as part of the cast. Thaaram had its first schedule in Manali and will be shot in West Bengal as well as Kerala. Nivin also has Action Hero Biju 2 and Shekhara Varma Rajavu lined up this year.
