Sanam Teri Kasam has put Harshvardhan Rane the actor back in spotlight, but do you know that he almost did not bag the movie? In fact, Rane had reached the audition four months after another actor was cast in the role. Interestingly, they are now sharing screen space in Dange too. So, how did Harshvardhan Rane eventually bag the role? Here's looking back...

Harshvardhan Rane was cast for Sanam Teri Kasam two days before poster shoot

Harshvardhan Rane had reached the audition for Sanam Teri Kasam four months late and with another actor already cast, there was almost no hope for him to join the film. "They had done all the costume fittings, and the poster shoot was in two days," Rane recalled to Hindustan Times. In turn he heard that he was only wasting his own time. However, he revealed, "After over two-three hours they came, hugged me and said hamaara bahut nuksaan kara diya tumne."

Harshvardhan Rane's Dange co-star Ehan Bhat was the original actor cast for Sanam Teri Kasam

It was when Rane went to use the restroom after the warm revelation that he met the actor who was originally cast in the role. It was his Dange co-star Ehan Bhat. Harshvardhan spilled that Bhat was quite healthy and mature even after receiving the news of being replaced in the movie.

Harshvardhan Rane's regret with Mawra Hocane

Pakistani actor Mawra Hocane was the female lead in Sanam Teri Kasam. She is now even married, when the film re-released in Indian theatres, but given the ban on Pakistani artists in India, the interactions exchanged are also very limited. That is something which Rane regrets, especially because during the time frame, he did not talk to his co-star or rather engage with anybody. It was when Sanam Teri Kasam flopped nine years back, that Rane went silent. He refused to talk to anyone, Hocane included. The actor reached out to the producers only now after fans demanded the re-release and sequel to the movie. Thus, both are now on track - with re-release breaking records and the sequel being confirmed. So, it looks like good times are to follow Sanam Teri Kasam fans.
