One month to Coolie: Will Lokesh Kanagaraj-Rajinikanth film be able to pull off a pan-Indian success against War 2

With exactly a month to go for the release of Tamil film Coolie, all eyes are on the Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj film. Fans are eager to not only watch how Lokesh will be presenting Rajinikanth onscreen, but also how Coolie is a perfect pan-Indian phenomenon, given the film features stars from across industries. Coolie is scheduled to release in theatres on August 14, and the makers know the right way to keep fans hooked and satisfied at the same time with their promotions.

One month to go for Coolie and the fans are hyped

Lokesh Kanagaraj, who keeps soaring in each of his next film, is teaming up with Rajinikanth for Coolie. With only a month left for release, the action thriller is one of the most anticipated films from Tamil cinema this year.

Coolie does not fall under LCU, but that does not mean the film is facing any less hype. It makes up for a truly pan-Indian affair, given that it features stars from all industries. You have Aamir Khan doing a cameo, while Upendra, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan form the cast. Each of these actors not only represents an industry, but comes with their own fame and brand, which adds to the advantage of Coolie.

Adding to this, every aspect of Coolie is only better and bigger. With Rajinikanth at the forefront, and fans eager to see how his Deva will turn out, director Lokesh Kanagaraj, composer Anirudh Ravichander, and production banner Sun Pictures have proved their success streak in their past projects as well. If that is not enough, the latest single released, Monica featuring Pooja Hegde and Soubin Shahir, has become the talk of social media.

Will Coolie overtake War 2?

Interestingly, both Coolie and Hindi film War 2 have locked the same release date: August 14. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film features Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR. With the clash confirmed to happen and neither of the films looking to give way, Coolie seems to have more advantage, simply because of how much the film will be capitalising on the pan-Indian connection with each artiste. The South Indian cinema too is gaining momentum in recent times, giving Coolie an edge over War 2.

While one has to wait and watch on August 14 to know which will take over the other, Coolie team has been going strong with its carefully planned promotions and buzz.
