One Piece: Red - New film based on the popular anime releases first poster and teaser trailer

One Piece fans rejoice! Yet another film based on the popular anime series is set to hit the silver screen; this one titled One Piece: Red. The first poster and teaser trailer for the upcoming film was released on the heels of the film being announced.

The poster and teaser were let out on Twitter. The teaser and poster suggest that the character of Shanks, the leader of the Red Hair Pirates and an Emperor of the New World, would figure prominently in the upcoming film. While the teaser ends with a shot of the Red haired pirate chief, the poster also features his trademark acars in the title of the film.

The announcement regarding the new film was a part of the celebrations of the original anime completing its 1000th episode. The series debuted in 1999. The manga on which the series is based on, created by Eiichiro Oda, has been in circulation since 1997.

One Piece follows the story of a young boy who eats a Devil Fruit, which grants his body the flexibility and dexterity of rubber. He joins a crew of quirky pirates and the series follows the unlikely bunch’s adventures, as they go in search of the world’s greatest treasure, the titular ‘One Piece’, which will make its holder the king of pirates.

A live-action Netflix adaptation of the series is also in development.
