The makers of Operation Romeo released the film’s official trailer on Friday, and it has been receiving good responses from the fans. Many have found it relatable probably because the film deals with moral policing. Neeraj Pandey, one of the producers of the project, believes so and has now opened up about how the film’s premise is relatable to the viewers.
“Everyone has experienced moral policing of varying intensities in their lives at least once and that’s the reason we thought to make a film on it. The plot is intense and based on a specific incident but the audience will be able to relate to all the characters,” said Pandey as reported by Indian Express.
The trailer shows a couple on a romantic drive, who pull over to kiss, when they are interrupted by sub-inspector Jadhav. The policeman who believes the couple are a threat to the moral fabric of our society, soon invades their lives.
The movie is the Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie, Ishq. Directed by Anuraj Manohar, the Malayalam movie stars Shane Nigam, Ann Sheetal, Shine Tom Chacko and Leona Lishoy.
Operation Romeo, directed by Shashant Shah, is inspired by true events touching upon the moral policing, young individuals face across our society. The movie stars Sidhant Gupta and Vedika Pinto in the lead roles with Sharad Kelkar, Bhumi Chawla and Kishor Kadam playing important roles.
The movie is bankrolled by Pandey’s Friday Filmworks and Reliance Entertainment. Pandey has previously produced A Wednesday, Baby, Rustom, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, and the Hotstar Specials series, Special Ops.
The movie Operation Romeo is set to hit theatres on April 22, 2022.
