Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer closer to reaching Rs 75 crores target in week 1

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer continues its fabulous run at the Box Office. The movie has earned over Rs. 60 crores on day five of its release. It has managed to remain stable even on a Tuesday which is a huge deal for the film.

Unlike Barbie, Oppenheimer has been performing extremely well in the Indian market. This could also be credited to the film’s controversy with the Bhagvat Gita, which is a sacred Indian scripture.

After earning Rs. 6.5 crores on its first Monday, Oppenheimer has minted Rs. 6 crores on its first Tuesday. The minimal drop in collections is proof that the movie is actually working really well at the Box Office.

Thanks to its current collection, the movie has minted Rs. 61 crores in total within five days of its release. Thus, the film is expected to earn over Rs. 70 crores by the end of the week (Thursday).

Here’s the day-wise collection of Oppenheimer, according to a report on Box Office India, up until now:

Friday – Rs. 14.50 crores

Saturday – Rs. 17 crores

Sunday – Rs. 17 crores

Monday – Rs. 6.50 crores

Tuesday – Rs. 6 crores

Total – Rs. 61 crores

Since the film has been performing well even on weekdays, it is expected to earn even more over its second weekend. If Oppenheimer, featuring Cilian Murphy in the lead role, earns over Rs. 100 crores by its second weekend, that would not come as a surprise. However, that is given the film can hold the current numbers and not see a major drop within a week of its release.
