Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer boasts some of the biggest names in Hollywood as part of its central cast but did you know his oldest daughter, too, is part of the film? It recently came to light that Nolan's daughter Flora, the eldest of four children he has with his wife and film producer Emma Thomas, makes a small but very interesting cameo in the upcoming biographical drama.

Turns out the fleeting moment she appears on celluloid reveals her face being blown off by a nuclear explosion! Well, that's one way of announcing yourself.

Many would know that Christopher Nolan has worked with brother/screenwriter-director Jonathan Nolan on multiple films of his. The former's wife, Emma Thomas, has served as the producer on all his films so far and has been an integral part of his ecosystem.

Speaking to The Telegraph ahead of the release of his magnum opus, the 52-year-old filmmaker describes the decision to cast his daughter as a spur-of-the-moment call. Flora Nolan, 22, is reportedly a member of New York University's Tisch School of Arts class of 2024 and it was on her father's asking that she opted to spend a week on the set of his film Oppenheimer. With the role of a "nameless young woman who appears to the title character in a hellish, conscience-pricking vision" still vacant during her stay, director Nolan's pitch was gladly accepted by Flora.

However, despite the gruesomeness of this cinematic moment, Chris Nolan is extremely glad that his firstborn chose to be a good sport. "It was wonderful to just have her sort of roll with it,” he says in the same conversation with The Telegraph.

Previously, Flora Nolan appeared as an extra in the 2014 film Interstellar.
