OTTplay Awards 2022: Priyadarshi bags Emerging OTT Star (Male) award for Unheard and Loser 2

The OTT space paved the way for a number of rising stars to make their mark on the silver screen with content driven stories which helped them display their acting prowess to the very best of their abilities. The first ever pan India OTT awards, the OTTplay Awards 2022 recently honoured the best of content in the digital space. Hosted by Maniesh Paul and Gauahar Khan, the awards made sure to celebrate some of the best emerging talents in the digital space as well, with categories such as Emerging OTT Star.

The award for Emerging OTT Star (Male) was presented by Parambrata Chattopadhyay. Priyadarshi took home the award for his stellar performances in Loser 2 and Unheard. The Telugu actor was all charm as he accepted the award and spoke a few words after bagging the trophy. Audiences were treated to a delightful moment of camaraderie as Parambrata chose to hold the award for Priyadarshi, when the latter said the trophy was heavy.

Expressing how nervous he had felt, the actor said “ It literally feels like Taare Zameen Par. Receiving this award on a national level is extremely special. Sitting across the finest”, he said. Priyadarshi also treated the audience to a delightful moment as he expressed how excited he was to see Farhan Akhtar at the event as well.

“Never had this moment in my life”, Priyadarshi went on. “I thank HT and OTTplay, not just for helping us navigate through content, but also to navigate great stories which enable us to be heard and find our voice. The internet has been my godfather. Thank you”, he added.

“Before I finish, I’d like to add. I heard somebody say ‘When a writer falls in love, you never die’. I thank my directors and producers, who helped me stand here”, he said.

The first two seasons of Loser are available for streaming on ZEE5. Unheard is available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
