What is Parasakthi film about?

Parasakthi is a socio-political period drama, which is set against the backdrop of 1960s Tamil Nadu. The story follows the journey of Chezhiyan (Sivakarthikeyan), a student leader involved in anti-Hindi imposition protests. When the Indian government’s impose Hindi compulsory across the country, putting non-Hindi speakers in worry, Chezhiyan and his peers form a radical student group fighting for linguistic rights and cultural identity.

After a clash with authorities, Chezhiyan steps back from the involvement. But years later, his younger brother Chinnadurai (Atharvaa) takes up fighting for the same cause. However, the brothers’ paths converge as they confront systemic injustice and mobilise wider resistance, championing self-respect and unity in the face of oppression.
