Vidaamuyarchi is Ajith's latest film, which has caught the attention of many in Tamil cinema. While Ajith fans are loving the film for his stylish action sequences, the overall response has been mixed. On the other hand, the action drama was released in Telugu under the title Pattudala on February 7, 2025.
Unfortunately, the response to the Telugu version has been quite dull, and its occupancy has dropped significantly. Here are the first three-day collections of the Trisha Krishnan-starrer. On day one, Pattudala made ₹50 lakhs in Telugu. On day two, it collected ₹40 lakhs. Saturday (day three) was even worse, with earnings of just ₹35 lakhs.
With a total of ₹1.4 crore so far, these numbers are shockingly low. Ajith has a decent following in Telugu states, and his previous films opened with over ₹3 crore. However, Pattudala has struggled to find an audience.
One of the main reasons for this is the release of Naga Chaitanya's Thandel, which hit screens on the same day. The action drama started with decent collections and has so far made just over ₹25 crore, continuing to perform strongly at the box office. This has significantly impacted Pattudala's chances.
The situation is so dire that most screens allocated for Pattudala have now been reassigned to Thandel. Worse still, the film is struggling to even achieve 30% occupancy.
Another major drawback is the lack of promotions for the Telugu version. A section of the audience is unaware that the film has even been released. Pattudala is a road thriller featuring Arjun Sarja and Regina Cassandra in key roles, but despite its star cast, it has failed to gain traction.
By the looks of it, Pattudala will likely be out of theaters by Monday or Tuesday. For now, the film in Telugu has no takers. Stay tuned for more updates on this project.
