Pawan Kalyan, star and politician, who’s currently working on Krish’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, was recently in the news for the re-releases of Jalsa, Thammudu and Kushi respectively. Commemorating the win for Naatu Naatu (in RRR) in the Best Song category at the Golden Globe Awards earlier today, he congratulated its composer, lyricist, singers and the entire team of RRR for the unique feat.

“Naatu Naatu, the song from RRR, which won the prestigious Golden Globe award, has done all Indians proud. I wholeheartedly congratulate MM Keeravaani, the composer of the much-loved song across the globe. This is certainly a shot in the arm for Telugu music on a global platform,” he shared from the social media handle of his political party Jana Sena.

He further added, “I take this moment to appreciate the lyricist Chandrabose, singers Rahul Sipligunj, Kaalabhairava as well. I sincerely hope RRR’s victorious march continues at the Oscars as well. I hereby applaud the pathbreaking efforts of director SS Rajamouli, the film’s lead stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, producer DVV Danayya for making a globally acclaimed film.”

RRR was nominated in two categories for Golden Globes - Best Original Song and Best Non-English Language film respectively. While 1985 (from Argentina) won the top honours in the Best Non-English Language film category, RRR’s Naatu Naatu won in the latter, edging over songs from films like Top Gun: Maverick, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio.

Starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Shriya Saran, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani and others in key roles, RRR was produced by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainment. The film released in five languages on March 25, 2022 and grossed over Rs 1200 crore across the globe. RRR was also named the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan as well.
