Pet Sematary Bloodlines OTT release date – Watch the gruesome prequel to the Stephen King cult classic in India on THIS platform

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines is a 2023 prequel and the fourth installment of the Pet Sematary franchise. Pet Sematary is Stephen King’s brainchild and self-proclaimed by him as one of his darkest works. Bloodlines is based on an untold story from the original novel by King, that had offered little explanation for the evil ongoings in Ludlow and its woods.

Producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian were intent on creating a proper origin story for the same, and that led to the birth of Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, and later, the induction of co-writer cum director Lindsey Anderson Beer. Pet Sematary: Bloodlines will be available for streaming in India on Prime Video starting April 2, 2024.

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines plot

The film’s trailer, logline, and the untold chapter from the Pet Sematary novel offer enough details about the prequel without revealing the climax. Pet Sematary: Bloodlines is set 50 years before the events of Pet Sematary, in 1969, and follows the adventures of a young Jud Crandall, the old, helpful neighbor of the 2019 film’s newly moved-in Creed family, who later dies at the hands of their undead child.

It is the ‘60s and Jud and his girlfriend Norma are eager to leave town and start a life of their own. However, their way out of Ludlow is stopped by an ancient evil and a flying bird, along with the strange behavior of war veteran Timmy Baterman. But when Timmy and his dog’s behavior grows more erratic and they start attacking the local people, Jud must help put an end to this strange evil that is older than the town itself.

Though the film portrays it as a Wendigo, a demonic evil, or simply a malevolent forest spirit at times, its powers and influence is transferred to any dead creature buried in the ancient burial ground, reanimating and transmogrifying them. Now the descendants of the founding family must put an end to this evil, and Timmy, before it decimates them and the town.
