AR Rahman has turned vegan, albeit only for ten days. The Ponniyin Selvan composer recently announced the same on his social media page. He shared a picture of his meal comprising brown rice, broccoli, and greens and captioned it, "Turning Vegan for the next ten days .."
On the film front, the first single from AR Rahman's Ponniyin Selvan was launched last evening. The song, which is a tribute to the Cholas, is sung by AR Rahman himself along with AR Raihanah and Bamba Bakya. Karthi had stated that when he listened to the song for the first time, it was a goosebump-inducing moment and that he felt magical. He added that he felt like he was riding into the world of Cholas.
Karthi shared on his social media page, "When I heard this song for the very first time, I felt as if I was riding into the Chola Kingdom! Pure magic! Join me in this journey. பொன்னி நதி - https://youtu.be/Oh5sU8YzF1A #PS1FirstSingle #PS1 #PonniyinSelvan #ManiRatnam @arrahman (sic)."
Rahman has also composed for Chiyaan Vikram's Cobra, which is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu. The audio launch for the film was held recently and the songs have already become chartbusters. The album has five songs in total- Thumbi Thullal, Adheeraa, Uyir Urugudhey, Tharangini and Yeley Ilanchingamey. Rahman's last release in Tamil was with Parthiban's Iravin Nizhal, which was said to be the world's first single shot non linear film. He is also scoring music for Ayalaan and Maamannan. The year seems to be a packed one for the Academy Award winner.
