Fans waiting in anticipation to see Prabhas don the role of another legendary hero after Baahubali is in for some exciting news. The upcoming mythology-based film Adipurush, starring the Tollywood heavyweight, is all set for its final shooting schedule in Mumbai.
According to reports in TOI, the cast and crew of the film had made their way to Mumbai on Friday and have started shooting. The development comes following a schedule in Hyderabad which had started in July this year. It was also hinted that production is being conducted at a fast pace so that it could be tied up by the third week of the next month. Although most of the scenes of the film have been shot, the climax scenes are yet to be finished.
Adipurush is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, which narrates the tale of Lord Rama who goes into battle to free his wife Sita from the clutches of demon king Ravana. In addition to Prabhas playing the titular role, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan are on board to portray Sita and Ravana (Lankesh), respectively. Rumours have been floating that Prabhas’ first look would be revealed on October 23, the star’s birthday. The film also features Sunny Singh, Devdatta Nage, Trupti Toradmal and Vatsal Sheth.
Directed by Om Raut, popular for his award-winning Marathi movie Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush, the film is simultaneously being shot in Hindi as well as Telugu. Produced by the banners of T-Series Films and Retrophiles, Adipurush is scheduled for a release on 11 August 2022, being released in the languages of Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam as well as Telugu and Hindi.
